kaua'i

the opportunity for my first visit to island of Kaua'i came in September of 2004. it was a relatively short trip (six nights), but I shot nearly 400 pictures, the best of which are collected here. each morning I visited a different garden, and then nearly every afternoon Hiro and I went snorkeling. the gardens visited include Na 'Aina Kai, the National Tropical Botanical Garden at Allerton, Limahuli and Smith's Tropical Paradise. I hear the snickering at that last entry, but in all honesty they have some beautiful hibiscus. I would just give the luau a pass. the best snorkeling, by the way, was Ke'e at Ha'ena State Park. to return to this page, click on the kaua'i portfolio link at left.
