what makes up the life of an artist as he makes up a life of an artist

27 February 2005

another weekend gone

the weekend turned out to be more productive than I thought--I finished all of my remaining applications for the year ahead in art shows (including Anacortes, Bumbershoot, Juan de Fuca, Corvallis, Van Dusen, Beaver Creek, Jackson Hole and Pleasanton). I also received my third rejection of the year (Edmonds, following on Cherry Creek and Folklife). it's clear to me that I do not understand how some juries work.

Hiro, Rod and I visited our second restaurant in the Hawai'i series.
last week it was Bobby's in Everett. great! yesterday it was Kona Kitchen in Seattle. not so great. next week, Kaua'i Family Restaurant, also in Seattle.
fingers crossed!

I got a little photography done today, in between laundry and lunch with friends.
I drove over to the Volunteer Park Conservatory in Seattle.
the walking irises are fantastic.

I also took a bunch more cactus photos for my friend Sue. I've started shooting in RAW, but with my camera (Nikon 5700), it's very slow. sigh...
